What is GMAT?

GMAT, also known as Graduate Management Admission Test, is an essential step for students going for business school. GMAT is a computer adaptive exam that has multiple-choice questions. Students need to appear for GMAT and are willing for admission to a Graduate Business Program such as MBA.

Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) conducts GMAT to provide international business schools with common measures for applicants.

Eligibility Criteria for GMAT

  • Applicant must be 18 years or above
  • The Applicant must be a graduate of a recognized University or equivalent.

General Facts about GMAT

  • The GMAT exam is conducted throughout the year, the applicant can appear for the exam up to five times in a year and eight times in a lifetime.
  • GMAT score has validity for 5 years
  • The total time duration for GMAT is 3 hours and 30 minutes
  • The best score on the GMAT exam ranges between 200 -800.

Exam Pattern/Sections

1. Verbal

Question: 36

Duration: 65 minutes

The Verbal section of the GMAT exam is designed to check the applicant’s ability in language writing, and critical reading.

 2. Analytical Writing Assessment

Question: 1

Duration: 30 minutes

The Analytical Writing Assessment also known as the essay section is designed to analyze the applicant’s writing skills.

3. Integrated Reasoning

Question: 12

Duration: 30 minutes

The Integrated Reasoning of GMAT exam has multiple source reasoning questions, twp party analysis questions, and table analysis questions to check the interpretation and reasoning skills.

4. Quantitative Reasoning Section

Question: 31

Duration: 62 minutes

The Quantitative section is designed to check the analytical knowledge of basic Mathematics concepts which includes algebra, geometry, and arithmetic. (Calculators are not allowed)
